SOLD OUT for 2025: Angora kid goat $500
Please email for information on putting down a deposit: happygoatluckyewe@yahoo.com. We only sell whether (non-breeding male) kids at this time. They make adorable mohair-producing pets. They grow up to be stink-free (no hormones) and are usually the bell-wether (leader) for your flock or herd. Goats are gregarious, confident and sometimes naughty. But they are very much like dogs, and are easy to coax when you have a handful of grain. We have an adorable apricot colored wether and a white/grey tipped wether. Gone, these boys are siblings., they left the farm in August and now live near Ann Arbor.
Mohair is a lovely, silky fiber that enhances your spinner’s roving by adding luster and shine. It is highly sought after and sells for $25-$80 a pound. Kids will produce three cuttings of “kid” mohair which is super-fine and spun by itself ($80/#). Expect a pound of usable fiber from each kid shearing. As your wether becomes an adult, you can expect up to four pounds of mohair that is most often added to wool for enhanced, lustrous spinner’s roving. Mohair is easy to dye and colored (grey, brown, apricot) mohair adds a whole new dimension to your dye pot/final product.
We sell dyed locks and raw mohair from our goats, if you’re interested in buying a fiber goat, I recommend buying a pound of raw mohair to experiment with first.
We are keeping all does (females) as we build our angora goat herd. But keep in touch, and get on a wait list because we may have does available for sale in 2026.
Sign up for a farm visit to see the baby goats in June.
